I’m incredibly excited about this place opening up. They specialize in Yakitori, meaning japanese skewers, and I think they’ve become my new favourite Yakitori place in town.
Their skewers were full of smokey flavour, and didn’t need any extra sauce - they were perfect as presented. Their sushi menu doesn’t have any crazy special rolls, but if you like a simple piece of sashimi on rice, theirs won’t disappoint.
Price point is a little high, but it’s currently a BYOB, which brings the price down (get in there soon!), plus it’s understandable considering the quality of food they’re giving you. That said, I think you can get away from here without spending too much - but that’s only if you can resist their higher price-pointed items (Lobster, Carpaccio, Etc...).
The atmosphere is beautiful - think natural wood chairs and tables, with traditional japanese motifs. I think this would be a great 2nd or 3rd date spot (once you’ve established that they’re as crazy about food as you are!).
This corner spot used to be a really sad little abandoned building, and if nothing else the owner should be thanked and supported for the amazing transformation he made to the building, and the classy establishment he’s put in its place.
Welcome to the neighbourhood, Bincho!

Great variety of yummy dishes, food mostly served on a stick.
The food comes and goes quickly. I just barely got a snap of the roasted avocado. Food is not too oily or savory so this is not a guilty pleasure. Honestly, this is better for groups than a date night because you will want to eat the whole menu. The menu is still changing, I would vote for a rice- or noddle-based dish that can slow you down from eating too many plates.
Ambiance is A-rated. You can see the full open kitchen but you won’t smell anything (for better or worse!) because there is serious ventilation. The entrance could be a little poppier if there was some LED lighting on the top logo. That would be A+.
Staff was fine. We were not there at rush hour so it is hard to rate them unless they are working under pressure :-p
Currently it is BYOB which is a plus.
Overall, we will go there again. And if there is a tasting event I’ll go back for date night. Clearly, the hottest restaurant on South Street right now.
Disclosure: I do know Brian, the owner, and we paid full price for our meal.
Service was excellent!! Sushi is tasty and the Land entree is absolutely superb. Meat was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be returning!!
