Much better than it used to be! Went here after a museum event for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. Got two seats at the bar and shared the lavash with hummus. I had the Turkey Devonshire which was delightful and super cheesy, and my friend got the classic burger which was cooked perfectly. If you have been hesitant about giving Union Grill another shot, it won’t disappoint!
It was not the same as it was years ago. Before, it was a California style restaurant and menu. They were closed for a while to remodel, and I expected a lot more changes. While they seem to have a popular crowd, it is certainly geared towards the lunch and college crowd. The food was decent, and a member of our party was happy to find Turkey Devonshire. The menu is limited, and I would like to see items like grilled chicken on the menu and just not for salads.
The only real problem here is the lack of street parking during peak times. Not being from the area I had to drive around a few blocks to find a spot.
We started with the church pierogies, which were good. Then I got the Turkey Devonshire since I knew that was one of their signature dishes. It's a version if Turkey Ala King but it's smothered with bacon on top. Toast, Turkey, gravy, and bacon. Very good. I had a bite of my dad's fish taco and it was really good (no picture of that one). I also got a side of mashed potatoes. I mixed that with the gravy off of the Turkey Devonshire and it was good. I had the cinnamon roll and ice cream for dessert. The homemade ice cream was really good. The cinnamon roll was good but small.
Overall, a good experience.
