As a fairly ordinary, everyday restaurant in the sea of swank that gets all of the attention in the city's downtown dining scene, August Henry's tends to fly a bit under the radar, though it shouldn't! It's in a prime location on Penn Avenue, close to the Convention Center, several hotels and the Cultural District. It offers a giant menu that has something for everyone and the quality of the food is darn good and at a fair price, as are the drinks. The atmosphere is comfortable and unpretentious and the service is prompt and friendly. If you find yourself in downtown wanting something other than a small plate, taco or the latest locally-sourced food craze, this place towers above the other more conventional options in the Golden Triangle.
our server Christy was very pleasant and on top of everything. The sweet potato encrusted chicken breast was delicious and the filet mignon was so tender it melted in your mouth. We will definitely go back for dinner. We highly recommend giving August Henry's a try.
My sister and I were in town for Justin Timberlake and were staying at the Marriott across the street. We were thinking Bakersfield, but didn't have reservations and it was slammed, so we walked down to August Henry's and we hit it just right, before the rush came in. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken dip, which was great, and the bread they serve with it, fabulous!! We ordered Caesar salad, with added Chicken and grilled Chicken salad with balsamic both very good. The Moscow Mules and our server were also great!! I would definitely go again and I recommend others to do so too, also great location!
