While in Pittsburgh, PA, we went to dinner and had some food I grew up on at Kabob G Grill. This is a mom and pop Middle Eastern place family run. We had grape leaves (meat and vegetarian), hummus, loobyeh with beef tips, sleek, rice, and fattoush salad (Check attached menu for ingredients). Their food was delicious and authentic. If you happen to be in the Castle Shannon suburb of Pittsburgh and looking for some amazing Middle Eastern dishes, this place is a must. The service was great, and the portions were very filling. Enjoy!
My sister was in town the weekend of 8/18/23 and wanted us to take her out for Middle Eastern food. My wife and I hadn't been here since our first visit in Jan. '23. We live in the North Hills, but the food is authentic and very good, so we knew it would be worth the drive. No one was disappointed. We started with the baba, which had that familiar smoky flavor. My sister had a salad and my wife the feta spinach pie. I opted for the sleek, a cooked dish made with spinach, black-eyed peas, bulgar wheat and onions. We all shared the rice pilaf, with vermicelli and toasted almonds, which adds a nice contrast in texture. Sister got the filet kabob, my wife the shish tawook and I the kafta kabob. All of the kabobs came hot off the grill and were moist and flavorful. We topped it off with the homemade baklava, which was also good. The Kabob G Grill is located in Castle Shannon, PA, about a block off of Castle Shannon Blvd., in a small building with a nondescript front. There was ample room inside to be seated away from other diners. It appears to be a family operation, with the mother and father staffing the kitchen and the daughter as the waitress. Service was quick and pleasant, the cooked dishes all arrived freshly-made and everything was delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. In fact, the only thing I'd change about this place is the name. I know there is at least one other restaurant in the Greater Pittsburgh area with the word "kabob" in the name. It's located in the North Hills, but I think I'd choose a name that was more distinctive to eliminate any possible confusion and make it memorable for customers. All in all, I highly recommend the Kabob-G Grill if you are looking for authentic, delicious Middle Eastern food.
The Lebanon food was amazing and delicious. This place was tucked away in a corner from the busy street. Definitely try them out for your fix of great cuisine
