Blew me away. I'm from NYC with a client near by on McKnight Rd, and he suggested it.
It was a little bewildering at first. Very many choices. But counter person asked straight-away if I had questions or wanted suggestions. Nice touch. They have enough suggested plates and bowls, it's pretty easy to find something to suit. I had a warm rice chicken bbq bowl. It was absolutely superb!
The options are many. The ingredients are fresh and healthy. Yes, it could be considered a little pricey. But if you don't mind a fair price for quality, you'll be pleased.
Beverage options are many, as well. With unique and healthy choices.
The dining room is very large. No problem with seating - booths, tables, and outdoor patio. I loved the place and will be back next time I'm in Pittsburgh
Nice healthy option for fresh salads, soups, and juices.
The soup I had was hot, made fresh, fast. Nice to have healthy options for lunch!
Good place for a $10 soup that’s filling, or custom salad.
I must admit, I’m a bit biased. I’ve been going to Core(Life Eatery) since it opened its first location in Syracuse. I was surprised yet elated to see them start expanding a few years ago. The owners had previously operated a lunch eatery in downtown Syracuse that failed, despite serving excellent food. That’s downtown Syr for you. However, when Core opened in what most would consider an odd location in the burbs, many of us weren’t expecting it to last very long. New concept (to us central nNew Yorkers at least), odd location, and seemingly a little pricey (especially for us central New Yorkers). Everyone was pleasantly surprised when this restaurant exploded in popularity. Anyone who’s ever been here can see why. The food is amazing. The menu has expanded and evolved over time. Yes, service can be slow at the usual times. For what they’re serving and how they’re serving it, there’s no way around it, short of having two entirely separate service lines which I’m sure is financially impractical. So many aspects of this restaurant are extremely well designed and thought out. The environment ties together well with the cuisine. One important suggestion: the ability to sit down and order from the app and have it brought to your table a la Panera. There were a number of times over the years when I arrived to see the line backed out the front door and I turned around and went somewhere else to eat. Still, in spite of a few hiccups in service here and there, I happily give Core a five star rating.
