Located at the foot of Mt Tabor, is this quaint bottle shop/market/coffee shop. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. I tried the Italian hazelnut milk chocolate Guido gobino and seasalt olive oil hazelnut milk chocolates with a cup of delicious Americano. Delicious! Great wine selection, olive oils and balsamic vinegars, amongst hundreds of other tasty delights.
If you don’t like Coquine you are objectively wrong or you arrived after 2pm and forgot it was closed.
This restaurant is tucked away in a residential neighborhood and you would never know its quality from the unassuming exterior. Everything was exceptionally good, especially the food. Even the bathroom - a stellar little modern quiet affair that only served to reinforce this was a carefully curated small restaurant with a cute little grocery store attached (very little mind you).
Relentlessly sustainable, this was some of the best food I ever had. This isn’t a burger joint and yet the fries were the best I’ve had in my life. This isn’t a pancake house and yet they were perfect. It does everything that it tries very well.
I would recommend this to anyone even remotely in the area. No reservations though so just show up and bear the wait list if you must! At 1pm it was no wait, so that’s a hot tip for you, future reader of this post.
Every item was meticulously flavored, exactly be right temperature, the glassware was high quality, the decor was minimal but authentic and warm. Such a treat to dine here. :)
Deserving of all its accolades, Coquine is fantastic.
Located in an Arts and Crafts storefront, the atmosphere is unpretentious while tasteful and refined. Very well thought out. The attached market has some chef knives to drool over.
Our dinner started with some of the best oysters I have ever had, perfectly shucked and presented. Followed with a lovely beet salad then a lovely carrot soup with Dungeness crab. Again, the preparation of the crab was perfect.
We moved on to the roast chicken, making good on the principle that if the waiter recommends the chicken, get the chicken!
Can't speak to the other meat options, but the chicken is really good.
Speaking of meat, the menu is annotated for both vegan and gluten free dishes.
We were pretty full, but the meyer lemon tart was a perfect ending.
