We were visiting Portland for a family wedding and found Southland Whiskey Kitchen the first night in town. Our waiter, Kevin was absolutely the best! ! Friendly, knowledgeable, and great to talk with. The food was exceptional as well as the whiskey drinks. We were able to visit the restaurant 3 times while we were there, being from South Carolina, BBQ is a staple in our diet, and this place didn't disappoint us at all. We also were blessed to have Kevin as our waiter two of the three times. He recommended food and drinks that were phenomenal.

Decided to have them cater our work lunch as it is a personal fave for those of us in the beer biz. Just had them make and deliver some fried chicken (hot and crispy!), potato salad (fresh and delicious!!), pulled pork with buns and sauce to make sandwiches (Smokey and flavorful!!!) and coleslaw (perfect topping or side with the pulled pork and fried chicken!!!!). Great food, great service. Fed and satisfied 42 beer reps!! Highly recommend. HUGE thanks to the SWK team and chef � James Layton!
I was introduced to this place awhile back and the place has only disappointed me once when they stopped putting brisket in the Bloody Mary. Otherwise food and service always on point
