Live from new York, it's me telling you that Kenny & Zukes is the real deal: better actually because they smoke the pastrami much more heavily than you find in the East. They finish in the steam locker which is mandatory for good flavor and texture. Its in line with many other NW flavors such as salmon: much more flavor and character than the Atlantic version.

We stopped by here randomly for dinner while on a day trip to Portland. The place looked cute so we went in. Mid week around 6 so not alot of people. Got seated right away..our server was very nice and answered our questions and helped with our choices. We got the dinner special/combo thing..came with a soup or salad(we got some mushroom soup! It was very good!) half sandwich (which was decent size, I got pastrami my husband got corned beef) a side(we choose fries and it was alot of fries!) and a sundae for dessert(i got pecan my husband got brownie,we liked the pecan sundae better) all for about $16(each) Everything was good and it was alot of food,we where so full! My 7yr old got the hot dog and fries(about $7 for both) and that was a lot for her she could hardy finish the hot dog it was so big but she loved it. In all we spent about $50(for food&drinks, pre tip) which isn't the cheapest BUT fairly average for a family of 3 eating at a restaurant .We all enjoyed it so I'm sure we'll be back next time we're in town!

Amazing place. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. I had the classic Ruben and it was the best I have ever had. Tender pastrami, just the right amount of sourcrout, well toasted. Just excellent!

The food was excellent and the service exceptional. My dining buddy couldn't decide between two things. She finally chose something; not only did the waitress bring what my friend ordered, she also brought her half of the sandwich she did not order, just so my friend could try it.

We’ve had our share of great Ruebens in the past and this Classic one topped them all!! The chicken soup was also your traditional Home cooked Jewish Chicken soup!! Outstanding

Rose Festival Parade Update: So the Grand Floral Parade route was changed away from Stark St., making Scandals more accessible but less of a spot to view the parade from. It still had a nice parade day crowd and some real Sailor men in crisp whites were there. I posted new pics, especially of sailors. ### Landmark Portland Gay bar, now often visited by straight hipsters -:( who I guess don't like their own bars, or wanna be cool with the gay vibe. Wide selection of flavored liquors and Red Bull for the children, many micros on tap. A great sidewalk seating area to watch the World and the bois in it go by. No food to speak of. Great place. ♡◇♡◇♡◇♡◇♡◇♡◇♡◇♡◇♡◇♡◇♡ WARM WEATHER SIDEWALK UPDATES Now that the warm weather is returning, here are some vintage pictures of the bois and their daddies, thronging the sidewalk tables in the cafe seating in front of Scandals lounge and restaurant, on Harvey Milk Boulevard in downtown Portland. A premier see-and-be-seen location for all the bois, all the daddies and all the mens. Be here, bois, Daddy's, men's, queens and in-betweens as well. Bring your cocktails, bring your tails and bring your cocks as well, to the sidewalk at Scandals where you too can flaunt what you got. Here are pictures from 2016 of those that did, those who were looking, and those who got.

Love coming here! Very safe, friendly, and queer-celebrating. Prices are also really great, there's a lot to do nearby, and the staff is very kind. Quickly become one of my favorite spots in Portland!

I really wanted a cuppa hot cocoa, and our wonderful bartender served it up with a generous portion of whipped cream. Thank you! 😊

Vibe is super fun. Tall Bartender got mad at me for not standing in a line…it’s a bar. There was no line. I’m confused and offended.

It felt like the Alley was making a comeback. My Gentleman and I fantasized about buying up Stark down to 8th and reseeding it with all of our lost, seedy places. He decided he'd reopen the Roxy as TBS: The Beautiful Suzanne. We had a lovely evening.

Me and my boyfriend went here last night. It was one of the absolute best bar experiences I’ve ever had. Bartenders are super nice, and the atmosphere is comfortable. It may be my favorite bar. Thank you for amazing drinks and a great experience.

My wife and I were looking for a place to grab a drink after a show and found this lovely bar. I admit I'm pretty dense and didn't realize it was a gay bar but it honestly didn't matter because the staff was friendly and were continuously on the move, between pouring drinks and cleaning up I rarely saw these guys stop and when they did it was to chat up patrons and really lighten the atmosphere. Drink prices are fantastic and the place was clean and my wife said it was one of the most comfortable bar's she has been to. Will gladly come back.
