We have been wanting to go here. It did not disappoint. I had the all American, and it was delicious. I am a huge fan of tempeh bacon and it was awesome. We also had the blue bbq fries, and they were also delicious. I had the caramel peanut shake, yumm!
Can't wait to come back.
Good:
* amazing 100% plant-based menu
* diner-style grub you can feel better about eating
* groovy interior that fell somewhere between 1970s fast food and modern-contemporary... really cool!
* super friendly service on my visit
Bad:
* nothing to report
I've eaten at NLB 5 times now, once during opening week, and most recently yesterday. I've always left feeling full, satisfied, and like I got great service. If I had to ding them at all it would be on the crinkle fries, which are ok, not great (Though the tater tots are really good!), and the prices being a tad too high. I mean, $24 for two people to eat a single burger each, with tots and a drink? That's too high. I understand that they are in a trendy and expensive area, but if the goal is to turn more people on to healthy plant-based food, those kind of prices aren't going to do it. I also understand they pay their employees a living wage, and that the food industry is unfairly stacked against them, seeing as how most fast food places pay almost nothing for ingredients AND pay low wages, and that our government subsidizes meat and dairy outrageously, and produce not at all, so I will continue to patronize NLB, and hope the rest of society catches up to them.
The Special Sauce Burger is AMAZING! The free refills? Also amazing!
Keep on rocking, NLB.
