Great place for sushi! We went in with a coupon or we wouldn't have known about this place. We were seated promptly. Service was perfect--prompt without hovering. Food was delicious: we tried lots of different dishes, everything was fresh, and prices were in line with what we ordered. This is now a definite go-to place for sushi night!

Edamame here is awesome, they're buttery and have a nice little kick. The sushi is good, but over priced for what you get, in my opinion. It's also hard to be gluten free at this restaurant because their sushi rice is not gluten free, apparently because of the rice vinegar they use. The plus side is that they do have a raw roll that they were able to do gluten free and it was delicious.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing Valentines dinner here tonight! The chefs were very kind and the gentleman who had helped us up front heard we had never tried sake before and let us try some free of charge which was very nice of him. The sushi was great as well. We had gotten three rolls the shrimp tempura roll, carpenter and sakura. People who are complaining about how there aren't "typical" sushi menu items can always go to a Sushiland if they reaaally need that california roll lol. We thought the menu selection was great and had no complaints. Majority of the higher end sushi restaurants have menus similar to this and for the quality we thought the price was quite fair. We had paid $54 with a $10 tip for two cocktails and three rolls.

Ingredients, execution, service. The fish is of the highest quality and the rice is on point. If you like fried rolls with mayo/cream cheese/sweet sauce and turn your soy sauce into Wasabi sludge, you might be disappointed. This is a place that delights by honoring the basics with thoughtful execution. They have a well curated menu of classics and a smattering of more inventive fare. Can I mention again just how good the rice is here? If you know, then you know. The menu is priced appropriately and the servers are knowledgeable and attentive. Their new space is airy and elemental, though I do miss the old movies playing on the wall of their former digs.

Our bartender Jarrod was absolutely amazing. Recommended drinks and sushi for my wife and I who are by no means sushi enthusiasts. Thanks for a great evening at a reasonable price! My wife: “This is delicious and I don’t even like Sushi.” Enough said.

The Sushi here is Exceptional! Some of the best sushi I have tasted outside of Japan. Don't expect to encounter any fancy rolls here, this is as authentic as you can get. Go after 9pm for "Omakase" (I'll leave it to you [the chef]) for a more personal experience. This Sushi can't be missed.

A great little sushi shop. The fish and food were fantastic; high quality ingredients thoughtfully arranged and well prepared. Everyone was genuine, friendly, and helpful. Some of the best sushi and definitely the best sushi experience I've had in years.

My gf and I thought we'd try Daruma (in lieu of our usual neighborhood favorite Zilla) as it had good reviews and was walking distance from our house. It was a chilly, rainy Monday in February and therefore very mellow in there, so we had fantastic service from a classy gent that seemed like the owner: he informed us that Monday is all day happy-hour! We warmed up quickly with some hot sake. The wakame seaweed salad was probably the best I've ever had, with a tangy sesame dressing, and the shrimp & vegetable tempura was masterful: light, crispy, and the shrimp tasted really fresh and juicy. All the sashimi and rolls we tried were uniformly top-notch, and my gf liked the Ume-Shiso Maki so much she ordered seconds. The 90's trip-hop music selection made me feel cozy and nostalgic. This was overall a great sushi experience, and we can't wait to come back to Daruma soon!

Favorite sushi spot in PDX, had no idea they moved and found them again by accident. Great service, wonderful food. We arrived kind of late and they ran out of rice when we went to place another order. Next thing we know we have a large plate of sushimi sitting in front of us, and provided on the house. Wow!

Miss Yuki (Sp.)+ Steve combo I have to say. But the new sushi chef is nice and the sushi quality is amazing. Not huge selection but that is what keeps it so fresh and delish tasting. I have Japan on my list of places need to visit and eat my way through soon! But until then I find myself nestled up in this quaint and delicious sushi joint on the regular.

We both got the omakase for $35 (it's name your price). Jared was friendly and very knowledgeable, he gave us all kinds of trivia about our food and sake. Included an awesome ceviche roll, fish collar, and a huge sashimi plate. Interesting specials, like sea urchin and beet-marinated tuna. I'd take anyone here in a heartbeat for a unique sushi dining experience.

Sushi was pretty food for Portland. Service was great but not the place to go if you're in a rush. Server was super knowledgeable and helped us out. Overall a decent date night experience.

I have had sushi a lot of places all over the country, this is by far the best hands down! You can order anything on the menu and not be disappointed. Small, quaint and perfect!

Great service. Nice plate presentations. Nice design. Comparable freshness+ flavor to the other 3 sushi options on Alberta. I enjoy them too

Pretty good sushi, but smallish portions with a higher price. The service was a little hot & cold, but generally we had a nice time.
