There's no clear theme or cuisine; it's a neighborhood pub with some unique food. But somehow it works. If you order off the revolving menu you'll get reasonably fresh food and their draft list now has numerous local options.
Put Up, or Shove Off. We hit up the Standard for happy hour a good bit. The 2 older lady bartenders are great. We play guinea pig for them on occasion when they experiment with new baked appetizers (Battered Green Beans!!) and a friendly neighborhood vibe rules overall. However, sometimes the amateurs arrive and try their patience by doing things like not knowing what they want to drink after theyve been standing at the bar for 10 minutes, playing with their phones. This is when the ladies put on their "take your training wheels and go away" faces, as they dont have time to waste on airheads and space cadets. We have a good chuckle when this happens, as my wife the bartender empathizes entirely. Anyhow, I dont know what the "scene" is like at night, but as I said; their $2.50 Wells during happy hour serve us just fine.
Also, you gotta love the unique blend of decor they have going on, including their great (not digital) photo booth, when its working....
I go to that one for video gambling and fresh drinks its better most of it every time. Other places dont have all their things like that one always have. The other places might not be pretty good either. I would like to go to live there if I can.
