Lived in the area for a few years now and having a kid is getting us out more to explore the immediate neighborhood a little more. It's always on the walking path, but I've honestly slept on the Rose City Grill because of bad experiences from other golf course food back home, which was essentially hospital food that you'd only order if you were starving and desperate to eat. I need to unlearn what I have learned, and this spot is top tier.
Mike and Chelsea are a friendly team that put out some great food. Came on Saturday on a whim and got their Jimmy Max, which was a solid breakfast sandwich: eggs, bacon, cheese, English muffin. Hit the spot at a good price. Today we're out getting a Reuben and it's exactly what I could hope for. No frills, not experimentomg, justa solid, traditional, corned beef Reuben with sauerkraut and swiss. There's plenty of places in Portland to find that experimental-fusion-chaos menu, but it's honestly nice to keep the standards alive and well.
Golfers have been eating well here and the vibe is chill; plenty of tables to sit down at, baby even took a full nap being so comfortable! The grill is open to the public, so come stop by and grab something to eat, even if you're not a golfer.
Pretty clean in the restaurant part and food is good and nice prices. The employee working got there when they opened which was lame however he was very friendly and helpful and kept things tidy.
Would give five stars except the bathroom is as dirty as a porta potty at a homeless encampment. The seats were so filthy that I had to use three of the paper protectors to feel like I wasn't just sitting in excrement. If they ever clean up the bathroom and get away from that homeless encampment feel this would be a really great place to go.
Mike is a great cook and my breakfast is always my favorite
