Pretty cool bar. I read the reviews on here after I went and I'm pretty surprised. The owner seemed genuinely interested in taking care of business but maybe it's a culture thing.
The food was very good and they make their own bread. You can see right into the cooking area from the side so there's no questionable stuff going on.
The drinks were poured strong and the bar was very comfortable. I did not have to wait at all for my rounds with my friends.
Recently went here for dinner. The lamb shank was tasty, but a tad over seasoned. Another dish with chicken and beef was a little dry. The rice was perfect, the hummus was yums.
They have a great selection of cocktails, with creative and tasty infusions. I had the jalepeño martini which was spicy and delicious, but the rim had way too much suger for my taste. My preferred beverage was a ginger cocktail with mule in the title, although I can't remember the exact name.
The place is a nice addition for the Pearl. It's nice, but not uppity. They didn't have all the Persian dishes we were hoping to see, but I was glad to check this place out. It offers outdoor seating, decent food, unique selections, and good service.
One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Great food and a fantastic atmosphere and you wouldn't believe how amazing the drinks are.
