This review is for their FOOD. I’ve never stepped foot in their studio. Most days I fast during the day but on the days my body needs more, I order root whole body via Postmates to my office downtown. My orders are always correct, beautifully done, absolutely delicious, on time, super filling and everything it comes in from packaging to utensils to straws are sustainable. WIN WIN WIN WIN. My photos are the Namaste Hydrated Smoothie + maca with the 8 Greens Bowl + Coho salmon + goat cheese and then my go-to Japanese Breakfast Bowl + salmon + goat cheese + avocado.
Root Whole Body in Slabtown is a nourishing experience on all levels. Beautifully appointed with comfort and relaxation in mind, the front desk staff is friendly and helpful without being aggressive in terms of selling their product. I enjoyed a satisfying yoga class with Melissa Barber, who is attentive and professional. She took care to get to know each student.
The amenities are first class: The tea room is a comfortable place to wait for a class or service. Kim is their resident chiropractor, and I had a great session with her. She adjusted hips, back, and neck in a gentle yet effective technique that left me feeling much better than when I arrived. I love the hot sauna. And I enjoyed a delicious tea, nibbles, and smoothie at their bar. This is a place you can easily spend an afternoon in comfortably alone or with a friend, and come away feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Will definitely make this a regular.
Our first time at Root Whole Body was a great experience from beginning to end. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole space is clean, nicely decorated and radiates tranquility. We attended a hatha yoga class taught by Melissa. She started the session with getting familiar with each participant's requests and possible injuries and paid attention to tailor the class to fit the audience. The 75 minutes flew by and by the end we all felt rejuvenated both physically and spiritually. It is a great idea that Melissa builds her classes around a particular theme and they all link up as progressive series.
