I drive by daily and we wanted something new and decided to give it a go. 2:30 Sunday afternoon. The place wasn't deserted but pretty close. We were seated immediately and given menus. Menu is limited to chicken with different flavoring and a few appetizers. We ordered seasoned fries and I got white chicken with Sweet Chili Medium Sauce with a side of coleslaw. My son got white chicken and waffles with spicy Ginger Fries came out quickly and were seasoned with an Asian curry type salt. They were good. Chicken came out shortly thereafter and arrived on small plates. The coleslaw was a generous portion and was pink. Even the dressing on it was pink. It tasted pretty good. Strong vinegar flavor. The chicken itself was piping hot and very crisp even with the sweet chili sauce on it. It was cooked nicely. The sauce had a weird aftertaste but wasn't bad even if a bit too sweet for what I was expecting. Didn't have any heat to it. My son's chicken had more of a dry rub and was very good
If you like motorcycles or have ever been to the "Chicken Head" club in Korea the you will like it here. The taro chips and kimchee queso is awesome. We had the whole chicken half sweet and spicy the other half soy ginger. Good Korean fried chicken. The only reason I didn't give it a four point five is because I would have liked more sauce on the chicken.
Dining With Delia Jo
+3.5
I know what you're thinking: another chicken restaurant? But hang with me here, this one is different, I promise. In fact, their famous Not Your Mama's Fried Chicken recipe (they first served this at bbbop Seoul Kitchen) made my list of Delia Jo's 100 Best Bites in DFW in 2016. Chicken Moto is a full-service, Korean inspired fried chicken joint, so what you'll find on the menu is more than southern fried food, but a true fusion that actually plays very well.
First time here: very friendly staff and very informative after we told them it was our first time. Chicken is double fried so it less greasy, very tender and great. Good selection of beers. Curry fries were really good. Kids loved their chicken tender and wings. Great atmosphere with plenty of TVs for sports and nice motorcycle garage theme. We'll be back to try other things on the menu!
This place is hands down some of the best fried chicken in town. They also make some killer elotes and potato salad. We ordered the half chicken with sweet and spicy sauce which was right on point. The chicken is not overly breaded and stays crispy and crackly. The atmosphere is also very trendy and has an industrial feel. All in all, a wonderful place to get some chicken and beer. We'll definitely be back!
My wife and I had just left a fitness convention and I was starving. We were an hour away from home and told ourselves the first place that looks interesting we'll stop there. About that time we passed Chicken Moto. Just out of curiosity we went in because we love motorcycles, bicycles and food. I was wanting to know if this is a garage that has snacks or a cool restaurant.
As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and seated. The bartender was our server and she did a great job taking care of the guest and the bar. Our food came out and it was really good. The wings were gluten free which was huge for us because my wife is gluten free (I'm undecided, lol) and she could eat them. I must say the wings are delicious the flavor are a twist but surprisingly good. The meat was fresh tasting and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We also got the curry fries and soy and butter rice, both were really good as well. I've never had curry and the fries were a nice change of pace. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a place that delivers service and good food in a great environment. All the furniture is custom made by the ownerships friend as well as the light fixtures. You wont see them anywhere else. Really cool place.
We went here with a Groupon of $20 ordered wings, fries and corn, and a kids meal with a drumstick, we really enjoyed the wings, super crispy and the flavor was great! Iced tea tasted good, service was nice.. I would say is a little pricey but with the Groupon we had a good deal, we will definitely go back for more wings!
Came her with my husband for dinner. We were pulled in by the kimchi queso. It was delicious but the fries we got with it were the star. We opted for Cajun seasoning which did not disappoint.
I had the boneless dark chicken and waffle. OMG. The cornbread waffle was 5 stars delicious. However, I wish it had been presented with the waffle on the side and not under gravy and chicken. The middle was too soggy and I didn't eat it. I did devour the insight parts. The chicken was delicious and had great flavor. I ended up picking off the breaking because I was just too full but needed some protein.
My H got the quarter dark bird with mashed potatoes and gravy. He opted for the medium spicy chili. The sauce was delicious and a good combo of sweet and spicy. However, the potatoes and gravy were just okay and neither of us touched them beyond the first bite.
The service was friendly and efficient and we'd go back if we found ourselves in the area wanting chicken. It seems like it'd also be a great place to watch a football game and is biker friendly.
MH says he'd give it 3 stars because it's good but not THAT special. I gave it four because I thought it was a well-executed and original take on fried chicken. Yum!
Best Korean Fried Chicken with a Southern Twist
Farm Fresh Chicken. Farm to table, grass fed. Chicken was excellent. Juicy on the inside and hot. The double fried Korean Technique produced a crispy shell. The chicken was super hot, temperature wise. It is the best Fried Chicken in town. Better than Babes. Yeah. Sorry. But, it was so crispy and delicious.
Appetizers, we got the curry fries with kimchi queso. The fries are the best in town. Better dare I say, than Kenny's Burger in Plano. That was a tough decision. The kimchi queso was a little thin and runny. Could be thickened a bit?
The Milkshake, Henry's ice cream blend with whip cream on top. Oh, this was good. Light. Smooth. Subtle. I got the vanilla and it was great. Alamo Drafthouse still has the best shakes, but Chicken Moto is very, very good.
We got the Half Chicken, which came with breast, thighs, legs and wings. We also got the fries as an appetizer and with the milk shake and we shared everything and was pretty full.
Prices vary, but dishes are 9-25 dollars. You can get quarter bird, half bird, whole bird.
You can pick two seasonings, wet. Soy Ginger or Sweet and Chili. Go with NAKED. You can get the sauces on the side. My wife and I found the sauces too sugary for us. I hoped for a more savory and spicy mix, or smoky as an option. Ghost Pepper?
Appetizers are priced between 6-9 dollars.
They have beers on sale and coke products. YAY. No peticolas, revolver or lakewood. Maybe one day.
Service was great. The atmosphere is biker, industrial with classic rock and country. Friendly service staff, clean environment. Open. We got there early, so it wasn't loud or crowded.
