Reviews Taco's Mexico

I've been here for many years, as the food is authentic and delicious. But, things have changed a bit since the pandemic and no longer the place I once couldn't get enough of.. The food is good, the staff is attentive(all women workforce), but is no longer that secret taco place and now it's quite busy during lunch. Some items have been downsized such as the self serve sauce salsa area, and prices have gone up significantly; A taco is nearly $4 and a combo is nearly $14... If you plan to order during lunch, a typical wait can be upwards of 30 minutes, along with the run down dining area, and the terrible parking situation(sometimes double parked) has made it a place I have less frequented. I tend to have a craving and although I'm satisfied with my meal; the dining experience is a bit of a slog. There are equally competitive taco places nearby which can lead to a happier lunch experience due to cleaner and better designed facilities. Therefore, if you want the best experience, I recommend this place only for take out and order before or after the lunch rush.

A hidden gem. This was one of the best burritos I’ve ever had in my life. Don’t let the slightly rundown exterior fool you. The hard-working crew must pour all of their effort and attention into the food because it sure does satisfy.

We got their huaraches, the flavor is so good, and the texture was super crispy. The service is a little bit slow, the place looks messy, they don't show all their prices.

Tacos Mexico is hands down is my families favorite place to eat! Great fresh food I have been going here since I was a kid! It brings special memories back as a child! I now live 50 minutes away, and will take that drive before going somewhere 20 minutes away, trust me it’s worth the drive. The only thing I wish is that they had other locations!! I would be eating there every day! I love the pork and cheese pupusa, and carne asada tacos with everything. I highly recommend trying everything on the menu. Tacos Mexico is a 10 out of 10!!!!!!

Incredible food. The restaurant looks a little sketchy, but they clearly are just concentrating on making delicious food. I'm only here for a week but I will be visiting again before I leave.

I was not expecting this place to be so good. The building was unassuming and the menu was not clear, but after eating the food I can say the price was worth it. I am nearing a food coma and have yet to finish my meal.I WILL be going there again.

I've been wanting to try this place since my brother in law told me about it 2 years ago. Let me say if you want some authentic tacos, this is your spot! Food is absolutely amazing, and all the ladies there are super sweet and smily! I will be making this a regular spot!

I have been coming to this little place for years. It is an old building in a rough area but do not let that steer you away. Very authentic style Mexican food. I get the steak tacos they are really good. All produce is fresh does not look like it is a few days old. Usually fast service.

The food was delightful, the atmosphere is not amazing but the food makes up for it. I ordered the barbacoa combo platter with corn tortillas. Everything tasted delightful, the heat level was pleasant and for flavor not punishment reasons. Inexpensive and good, definitely recommend it.

Authentic Mexican cuisine! A definite must stop location. Don't let the look of the outside steer you away. Great food at a great price! Definitely stopping here again when I'm in the area.

Stopped by for lunch based on the reviews. Ordered combo #2, one chicken taco, one steak taco and one barbacoa taco, beans, rice and a drink. All that for $10 was not a bad price. The meat was very flavorful and everything tasted really fresh. I particularly enjoyed the chicken taco. The toppings were hidden behind the counter, so I was unable to see all that were available. Beans and rice were ok to me, nothing special. There were additional toppings on a steel tray off to the side that were not covered, which looked a little questionable. I could see what some people were saying about the place being cleaner. Seating is limited, so get there early if you plan to eat in.

While driving thru Richmond we found this place... A true hidden gem... AMAZING FOOD...I ordered the #2--3 tacos with chicken, rice and beans plus drink... $8.50 plus tax... cant beat the price...Plenty of food to feed 2 people... the flour tortillas were made on the spot after i ordered..slightly crispy and soft while toasty hot and just fabulous... rice was moist, not sticky and yummy... the beans were creamy and tasty... the chicken was small diced pieces that had been grilled tender and mighty delicious ... then great sauces to top it off were flavorful and not so hot that they scorched your tastebuds...

First time coming here, definitely need to get here before the lunch crowd. But the food was fulfilling, authentic and fresh.

No matter how you cut it, trying to settle on the best Mexican spots in S Richmond is likely to be a controversial endeavor. This small family-owned restaurant might be labeled as a typical S Ricmond, hole-in-the-wall for some, but the kitchen delivers hot and delicious Mexican food. The results are nothing less than delicious. The dining room is small and nondescript type locals spot. It's not your run-of-the-mill taco shop. Here you'll find fresh produce sourced from local farms and combined with the unique and traditional flavors of Mexico: bright green cilantro, chipotle chiles, Oaxacan cheese, and soft, pillowy tortillas, The menu is small, but you can't go wrong with any of the seven specialty tacos. There are also specialty quesadillas, burritos and combo plates. Artful, authentic and always tasty, the tacos here are exquisite. A great part of the allure of Taco Mexico. I liked it so much, I want to make luv to this place. Lol
