Had a great visit. Plenty of traditional and fusion inspired items on the menu. Had quite a few appetizers and three rolls shared amongst our table of three was PLENTY. The *spicy edamame stood out. We had a non-spicy friend so we got the spicy sauce on the side. I have to admit, I put it on quite a few other dishes we had including the gyoza dumplings and the lobster dumplings. Highly recommend. We did two fusion rolls and a classic rainbow roll. Everything was good but be prepared to let some new flavors gel in your mouth. The smoked salmon on sushi creates its own flair as does goat cheese instead of cream cheese. Really enjoyed the freshness of the jalapeño in the rolls!! Would have gone with a five but for a busy Friday night, I thought it odd that the hostess’ were not checking in with each other on which parties at the door had been helped and making sure tables without reservations were sat according to who arrived first. A simple glance around and “who was next?” would fix that problem. Was baffled that a hostess asked two behind us, who had no reservations as I was close enough to hear the exchange, and they were sat immediately, when we had arrived plenty before them. I didn’t want to raise the issue, but we waited another 45 to be sat, only to see the two at a table across from us when we were finally seated at a four top. Having been a server, it just didn’t make sense.

So, we decided to check out lucky af. It is in a great location with breweries and arcades close by, so there is lots to do. The pot stickers were good. Had a nice crispness and good flavor. The sauce was tangy and sweet, delicious. The sushi was great, hands down the best Philly roll we have ever had. The smokiness was amazing! The sauce on the plate is great, but beware it is spicy! The seasame chicken was AMAZING, crispy, sweet all white meat, five stars hands down. The salad was good. But the miso soup has this rich, deep, soulful flavor, so much depth that it was great! We will be back for more. The only downside is that it is noisy, so I'm not sure I would recommend it for a first date, but we had a great time!

Delicious vegan sushi options and the service is always top-notch! Our server showed us so much care and attention. This is definitely one of my favorite sushi places in RVA.

They truly do not know what they have here. It's the best sushi I've had in the continental U.S. The names of the rolls were a bit gimmicky and made me wonder, but the second I tasted anything I was absolutely sold. 100% recommend. The fish is so fresh and tender and everything is the exact combination to fit well together. I could not put into words how good it tastes, just go have it for yourself. Trust me.

Best lunch in a long time. Poke bowl is a must and the Simply Naked roll the perfect add on. First time here and will be back soon.

I. Am. Obsessed! I’m mad it took me so long to try this place. We moved here from California and have lived in Japan so we have a bar set on sushi quality. The first 4 sushi spots I tried in Virginia were not it for us. They were not fresh, had poor options or glorified their location based on gimmick. I don’t want “all you can eat”. I want delicious quality. My husband took us here for our anniversary and I cannot say enough about how much I want to go back. The outside is unassuming but has a large lucky cat on the facade! Inside, you’re greeted with a nice, romantic interior. Staff was quick to greet us and definitely responsive. Our server was awesome and made several recommendations! You MUST try the Wonder Woman roll. Joker was absolutely amazing too! Those were our favorite items but even our get naked roll, gyoza, egg rolls and lobster appetizer was absolutely delicious. Go try it! You won’t be able to get this out of your head. You’ll want to go back. You won’t regret it! I totally bough the T-shirt too because their logo is awesome lol.

This is probably one of the best sushi 🍣 restaurants I've ever eaten in. The location is ismack down in the middle of Scott's Addition. Fun just walking around the joint and checking out the cool paintings all around. I love the Lucky Cat Murals that are based on all Richmond things. The inside is pretty cool as well, with a few tables, sushi bar, a larger bar seating area and then a patio area outside. We ended up eating at the sushi bar. Everything we ordered was immaculately made and presented like something from Top Chef. They had a number of unique things and enough to try something new each time you come for awhile. The staff were courteous and very personable. My wife and I very much enjoyed our 1st experience here and will be back!

Love the atmosphere. The lobster dumplings were great. We also had the vegetable tempura and the Lucky AF roll. I ordered the spicy sockeye salmon roll but unfortunately they gave us the spicy tuna roll instead. Cocktails were ok. Staff was friendly. I would definitely come back.

We went during lunch time and the menu was limited. All the food we ordered was delicious. We tried the spicy tuna roll, lobster dumplings, Pho beef spring rolls, edamame, and Galaga rolls. Our favorite was the Galaga roll. It was yummy and full of flavor. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting decor. We sat outside and really liked the Japanese decorations, ie... lanterns and artwork. Our server was very nice and made great suggestions on what to order. I highly recommend visiting this Japanese themed gem of a bar.

Atmosphere, Aesthetic, & Customer Service was great. Food was MID AF. My boyfriend & I ordered the Pho & Bento Box, maybe it was just our food choices but it wasn’t that good at all. Pho was bland and the rice and Teriyaki Chicken in the Bento box lacked seasoning and flavor.

Do yall remember when Tina Turner sang the following words.."You must understand how the touch of your hand makes my pulse react"? I finally realized that she was talking about the hand of the Food God that graces you with his touch when you taste this food. I've been here twice and lemme tell you, I've been pleased every time. The drinks, especially the mule, are delicious. The sushi is fresh. The servers there are very kind and friendly. My friend dropped her chopsticks and before she could pick them up, there was a server waiting with a new pair. This means that they are paying attention to the details and their customers. You can also see that in how the meals are prepared. The place is small and sometimes you may have to wait. The longest I have waited is maybe 25 minutes but it was worth it. I highly recommend and I will definitely be returning.

I loved the freshness of the cucumber salad. The shrimp egg roll was cooked perfectly. The Crown Royal Cinnamon cocktail was the bomb. Excellent customer service! The place was packed on a Tuesday night. It was my first time and I will be back.

Great selection of sushi with a solid atmosphere. There's something for everyone here and it's made fresh just for you. Had a really good time here with some friends. The bill can add up quickly if you're not careful, some items are pricey.
