Probably the quickest McD's I've ever been to. Placed an order for 6 meals. Everything done and delivered to me within 2 minutes. Food was hot and with the exception of the fries, which needed more salt, everything was fresh and tasty. Staff were polite and friendly. Restaurant was beyond clean and restrooms were very well attended to. Well done to all concerned.

Are you one for whom that massive restaurant chain called McDonalds makes an easy target for derision? I have been guilty of that. But consider this: Our church annually needs about 35 oversized lunch bags for a project that we do to help feed the homeless in our area. In past years, I've visited various restaurants that carry such bags, as they don't seem to be sold in stores. One year, I tried a Chinese restaurant. They wanted to charge me for them. We finally settled on a nearby McDonalds, which cheerfully gave them to us for years.
That restaurant temporarily closed this year due to a fire. So I drove first to Hardees, then Burger King. Hardees made me wait 15 minutes while they called some distant manager on the phone, who told me to come back next week. Burger King also told me to come back some other time.
Frustrated and tired of wasting time and gas, I did what I should have done in the first place: Drove to the closest McDonalds, down on Willis Road. With a smile, the manager there gave me what I needed -- no call to corporate headquarters, no put-off.
Thank you, McDonalds. That was a nice thing to do.
