Good: Wonderful service, so friendly. Even the owner said hi to us! The food was glorious bagette with butter, cornbread with black beans, and gumbo galore!!! This gumbo this what made us curious to stop by here in the first place. So much fun, every spoonful was a different flavor and texture, all the meat was so tender and just cooked perfectly. The broth was a symphony of flavors, blended and supported the heartyness of the seafood. Then dessert! Key Lime Pie, again so balanced. So tart and so sweet so completely worth it! The space was very neat, and clean and the bathroom had fresh flowers 🌹 Bad: Parking, parking was awful. The restaurant it's self is a little more cozy than most, like lots of tables in a small area. But they make it work! They will care good care of you! 😄

Adored my experience here. The grio was flavorful and juicy. The gumbo was authentic. Chicken wasn't dry, but soft and flavorful. The flavor is on point and lots of French bread to share. Such a unique eatery and highly reccomended. I got a glass of beer for only $3.50 too.

I like the vibe here. It is a very small and quaint restaurant. Tonight was particularly busy so it took a minute to get our order. The grio platter for the starter was pretty delicious! We ordered these Celestin's gumbo and the the Chicken, sausage and shrimp gumbo. The broth is decent overall. My favorite parts are the sausage and the big scallops.

This small but mighty restaurant has equal seating in and out featuring soulful cajun fare. We had dinner inside on a Friday night without reservations and were lucky to get seated immediately! They were full within ten minutes of arrival. Several take out customers came and went. Nice atmosphere, clean and carefully spaced seating. Casual. The staff was friendly and attentive. Service was good. Now about the food... I've had zero experience with cajun food. (Popeye's doesn't count.) My date helped me order. Not overpriced but not cheap. He had Jambalaya (+ a side of black beans) and I had scallops with coconut lime sauce ($30!). Both were served with red beans & rice and marinated cucumbers & tomatoes. We had fried plantain as an appetizer. The server even sweetened the tea with honey for me. IT WAS ABSOLUTE HEAVEN! So. Worth. Every. Dime. Yes the cukes were tired & tasted like the walk in, but not important...it happens to garnishes. Yes the deuce table could barely hold all our plates. But they cleared frequently. Yes they could up the beverage selections for non alcohol but way to go on service! To quote the former governor...I'll be back!💜

Glad they are back! We went the first weekend they were open. It was a bit hectic, new servers and very tight space. Celestine's Gumbo was missing something, still VERY fresh and good!! Corn cakes and black bean appetizer was tasty and worth the try! Grio was great, enjoyed all including the avacado/tomato salad, rice and beans a bit dry. We will definitely return in a couple months once all the kinks get worked out. Thank you for coming back!

New location, Beautifully decorated. My Cubano sandwich was awesome. Key Lime Pie was wonderful but the Whipped Cream on top had no sugar, just tasteless, really Bit the pie underneath was perfect mouth-watering Key-Limeness. $50 for two people, without drinks (just water) seemed a little high. All-in-all, we'll be back.

Célestin’s restaurant have a nice and beautiful atmosphere!! I came across it while looking for Carribean and Haitian restaurant near me while walking in “J street, Sacramento” . To be fair their food is good but as a Haitian food aficionado the only thing that tasted more or less like Haitian food was there “Griot” most of the 3 different dishes that me and my friend ordered had their own taste, but again it was delicious!!! Service was relatively fast !!! I would go again for their food but not thinking that it’s Haitian food

Found this little gem of Creole Fusion! Haitian and New Orleans cuisine brought to you in an intimate and festive setting. The place is beautiful and the music choice brings me back to my roots. So glad I found this place. Service is superb. Very friendly, clean, and the food is amazing.

I can't expressed how thrilled I am that this TREASURE is back in business! I was so enthralled in my meal...Grio Sliders-spicy, flavorful & rich! And the Shrimp and Avocado Salad - perfection with the vinegarette I remember!... That I totally forgot to take a foodie dork photo! But, I did get one if the amazing Key Lime Pie, which was accompanied by a birthday Serenade by the owner! It was a perfect birthday lunch, and we can't wait to go back for more!! Go go go!

Their gumbo is awesome, I don't know how they don't get more businesses. I had a fundraiser here today and everyone who went loved the food! Service is wonderful too.

Very happy to have Celestin's back! The gumbo is still great, the baguettes are very nice, and the shrimp avacado salad is a great starter to share.

Phoebe and her husband are wonderful. The Cuban sandwich was the best I’ve had in Cali. I’m from Tampa and we’re very critical with cuban sandwich’s iykyk. The drinks were also great the margarita and the limeade very refreshing. Also loved the decor and atmosphere. Very good location great to go on a walk around the neighborhood after the meal

I was in a pickle and needed 5 gallons of gumbo broth for an event I was catering. Patrick was more than accommodating and his broth was delicious. My gumbo turned out great with rave reviews from my guests. I can't wait to dine there and sample his other goodies. Highly recommend this jewel of a place in Midtown.
