Good:
Wonderful service, so friendly. Even the owner said hi to us!
The food was glorious bagette with butter, cornbread with black beans, and gumbo galore!!! This gumbo this what made us curious to stop by here in the first place.
So much fun, every spoonful was a different flavor and texture, all the meat was so tender and just cooked perfectly. The broth was a symphony of flavors, blended and supported the heartyness of the seafood.
Then dessert! Key Lime Pie, again so balanced. So tart and so sweet so completely worth it!
The space was very neat, and clean and the bathroom had fresh flowers 🌹
Bad:
Parking, parking was awful. The restaurant it's self is a little more cozy than most, like lots of tables in a small area. But they make it work! They will care good care of you! 😄
Adored my experience here. The grio was flavorful and juicy. The gumbo was authentic. Chicken wasn't dry, but soft and flavorful. The flavor is on point and lots of French bread to share. Such a unique eatery and highly reccomended. I got a glass of beer for only $3.50 too.
I like the vibe here. It is a very small and quaint restaurant. Tonight was particularly busy so it took a minute to get our order.
The grio platter for the starter was pretty delicious!
We ordered these Celestin's gumbo and the the Chicken, sausage and shrimp gumbo. The broth is decent overall. My favorite parts are the sausage and the big scallops.
