First, let me say that no words could do this phenomenal restaurant justice.
Friday night I went in for my first time simply because I knew the bar tender (Ray). I had never been to see him while he was working and heard he made the best cocktails around (I can now say, the rumors are true). I was seated immediately, the staff was very polite but still warm and friendly. Ray made me hands down the best Manhattan I’ve had in my entire life. It’s a pleasure to watch him behind the bar - it’s very obvious he loves what he does. I started with the poutine which was some of the best, if not the best, comfort food I could have discovered on a cold rainy night. After, I ordered the filet which was cooked perfectly, and so tender I cut it with a fork. The roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes were delicious as well. Everything was cooked to perfection.
Over all, everything was perfect. I drove almost an hour one way, and I did not leave disappointed. Would highly highly highly recommend.
My husband and I love to stay at the Cheshire and decided to try Boundary for the first time. The wine list is wonderful; we chose a Pinot for $50 that was excellent; We decided to try the french onion soup recommended by our waiter; we split it as an appetizer and it was rich with a real beef broth, sweet onions and perfectly melted gruyere cheese on top. I ordered the scallops over risotto-they were some of the best I have ever eaten. Perfectly seared, sweet, fresh and tender. The only other time I've had scallops that good was in Spain back in the '80s!! My husband loved the Veal Meatloaf; flavorful veal and a homemade tomato sauce that was sweet and spicy. We finished with the chocolate mousse. It was an amazingly economical meal and one I won't forget. I will return to this restaurant the next time we are in St. Louis this Spring!
Every time I eat at Boundary, my meal is perfect. Last night was no exception. I had the poutine which is FABULOUS, the pork shank (they have the best polenta!) and chocolate mousse. Our service was fabulous as usual. Boundary has the best chef in town! My only regret is that I cannot give you 6 stars.
