REALLY good falafel. We are a couple of city vegans and falafel is our fave. Gyro grill is our main spot, but this one is a different spin that is totally delicious. Do check out Gyro Grill on Delmar though too if you like this place.
South City's Middle Eastern Culinary Secret. Well, maybe not the biggest secret, but many are surprised when we recommend this hidden cafe located in a strip mall in South St. Louis City. It's kind of a "hole in the wall," but there are regulars and the staff is friendly and extremely courteous.
Things to get... There's a reason why it won RFT's best falafel. It's hands down the best in the city. Let me know if you find a better place, but with an amazing tahini sauce on the side, I can't imagine a better place to get these deep-friend chickpea fritters.
They have gyros, but the name of the place is Kabob House. Get the Kabob wrap, it beats the gyro... they're Egyptian, not Greek, and the seasoning and spices in the ground meat make these kabob wraps to die for.
You might pass it or have passed it by many times. It's my favorite gyro and falafel in St. Louis. Get it to go, not the best ambiance.
