We went to lunch here the other day. Fried chicken is my favorite. Me and my coworker and I enjoyed the chicken. It was juicy and fresh. I had the 3 pieces with fries and Mac and cheese. Coworker had the chicken breast and fries. Both with a large drink. Cost us $29.71 and was worth every cent. We will definitely be back. 5 stars.
The 6 pc chicken tenders meal is enough for 2 people to split. So good! We ordered fried okra as our side for the meal and added an order of their wonderful Crinkle Cut French Fries on the side. Even Claude approved. 👍
The atmosphere can be better than you'd think, because it has a good location for watching the sunset go down, over 1604. It also has some beautiful bushes with yellow flowers, palm trees at Las Palapas next door, & other plants. The big thing is the sunset.
The people are pretty consistently the friendliest people in San Antonio. It's rare that I've felt like I had to wait too long. No one stands around thumping whatever metal thing they can find to thump, like at the Walmart in Helotes. No one shakes their keys profusely, like an O'Connor High School teacher, At My Car Door, another mother, In The Stairwell, with everyone watching her hypnotically torturing me, my next-door-neighbor, a police officer (raising them directly to my ear level). No one takes my $, but pretends they can't possibly cure a contagious infection on my skin, because they can't see it (this has been happening since 2001, as in two thousand & one). No one ruins my Thanksgiving by slamming her hand down hard on my table, several different times, at Salt Grass Steak House, Cheddar's, Mimi's. (The last 2 places had waiters who did this). No one comes out of the kitchen, smiles at me, & thwacks her tongs together, before going back in the kitchen ( La Madeleine's). No one noisily sweeps the parking lot next to my car (McD, Whataburger). Maybe I'm crazy, but I think it has something to do with it being Bush's Chicken, which I think is kind of a joke. I saw President Bush in 1997, after mafia tried to get me to jump from the Marriott. ( I'm a chicken, but I'm pretty sure I'm busting people who hypnotically torture teachers who might endure bad "counseling").
Bush's also has the best tea Anywhere, & crunchy ice. The chicken is pretty good, too.
