Half Door Brewing is the best place in San Diego to have delicious brews and food. When I first tasted House of Hops I was in love. It reminded me of some of the best hazy juicy IPAs I've had back on the East Coast. Their other IPAs are fantastic too, my husband loves the NorthEast IPA. But #Buzzwords and other new beers that pop up are amazing too! You can also get a flight to try out different beers.
The food is outstanding too. The flatbreads don't disappoint. And some of the Irish fare is yummy (Shepards pie, Bangers and Mash).
The atmosphere can be relaxed and fun and there are multiple areas to go (outside patio, downstairs bar/lounge, upstairs bar/lounge). Also you get a great view of Petco Park right from the brewery!
So come here if you haven't, you won't regret it!!!
We did a self-guided week long San Diego brewery tour. Half Door was hands-down the best of the seven we visited, on all metrics: brilliant service, comfortable and welcoming location, charming environment for drinking, incredible beer, well-priced, and tasty menu. Super Dank and Roark were standouts. The only low point was they were out of the majority of their merchandise, so we couldnt take as much swag home with us as we'd have liked. Cannot recommend HDBC more!!!!
Best Bloody Maria in town. Great food with unique subtle flavors (jalapeño tarter sauce, yes please) and quality, original beer. That pale ale with the paragraph description is the best and the IPL is worth a try. Spacious; nice bar feel inside and plenty of outdoor seating. Great service and a handsome bartender. �
