Been driving by on our way to and from the farmer's market for months and saying that we should try it. Today was the day and we were not disappointed. Tried the classic chicken pie and the green hog & cheese, paired with sides of mashed potatoes and creamed corn respectively. The pork pie was basically carnitas baked into a cheese crust, tender and perfectly seasoned. The classic chicken is just as great, would definitely recommend. Also tried the honey cinnamon latte - don't skip this one, it's a scrumptious gem.
So I'm not the biggest pot pie fan to say the least. But, my girlfriend talked me into going to check this place out. The guy at the front desk was awesome, and really was on top of his game! The pies were absolutely ridiculously good. I got the Green chili pork pot pie, and my girlfriend got the original chicken. Both of them were outstanding. The crust is flakey and sweet, and the pork was cooked perfectly with the right amount of heat. My girlfriends regular pot pie, truly turned me into a fan of even the original! Not to mention the mashed potatoes and gravy were some of the best I've had. Great place and will absolutely be coming back over and over again!
I absolutely loved it here, just moved from Los Angeles where we have outstanding food from every culture to Carlsbad. Hate to say it but Carlsbad has just ordinary food. I have been following Pop Pie on Instagram. Their food looks just as scrumptious as you see it there on Instagram. I had the "classic" chicken pot pie the crust is flaky on the bottom just as it is on the top. It was suburb. I wish I had room to try the sweet pies. I will definitely be back. Great food, great customer service, awesome decor and the vibes are kicking it. You have to give this place a try you will definitely be back.
