There were 7 of us and we were able to try quite a few dishes. I would recommend Peking duck, soy sauce chicken, and beef chow fun. I wouldn't recommend any fried rice dish as the one I ordered lack flavor and salt. Somehow the chef forgot to add salt or soy sauce in the fried rice. It was very bland. We also ordered walnut shrimp- way too sweet, definitely "American influenced." Overall the food was good, but it didn't stand out from any other Chinese restaurants in San Diego. Service was okay. 4 stars all the way. Dessert at the end was a pleasant surprised. The sweet soup was probably the most authentic food that I ate at this place.
Nobel Chef is one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. A place that has a lot of "must try" and a lot more than to explore. Crispy roast duck with the sweet and sour sauce is always amazing! The special order rice in pot is flavorful and I really like the crispy texture. The salty fish and Eggplant is a bit too salty for me. Their complementary desserts are really good as well!
Many other dishes are also highly recommended, beef steak, beef soup, daily special soup, Eggplant meat with XO sauce...
One of the best Chinese foods in San Diego! As a real Chinese, authentic is more important to me than “good service, fancy design, and full bar”. This place is authentic. Their Cantonese style roasted duck and pork belly are so delicious, right good just like what I had when I traveled in Guangzhou. Their seafood pot is delicious too, love the flavor very much. I highly you recommend to try this place if you like authentic Chinese food.
Good experience, the food almost met the very high standards of my Chinese girlfriend but not quite to her level of anticipation. It has become my favorite place and go to for take out. For an American who doesn't know all the items on the menu yet, it is always helpful to go with someone who knows the menu well and what you are getting.
Consistent quality, friendly staff, clean environment. What's not to love? I always order the three BBQ items and an orange peel chicken to go. Usually on a Sunday evening. 15-20 minutes. Leftovers can be used in a fried rice dish.
Hot and sour soup needed more vinegar, so i did that at home at a big issue. We like the yang zhou fried rice. It came with some bbq pieces and topped with shrimp. And we also got cantonese roasted duck. The sweet & sour dipping sauce is to our liking.
We ate the iron board beef, honey walnut shrimp, BBQ pork fried rice, taro duck soup. The shrimp is jumbo size, and food is good. The steak is large, and so hot you can hear it sizzling.
Looking for a great Chinese food with with not your “run of the mill” dishes? Well this is the place! Delicious well prepared dishes worthy of its name. We had the shrimp with XO sauce and the Chow Fun with bbq port. The chow fun which is a noodle dish is prepared with rice noodles. A hot pot of tea is provided upon seating patrons. I love tea so that was a big plus for me. This is a very casual place with no thrills & frills but the service is excellent and the food quality and taste will exceed your expectations. Be prepared to wait for a bit on weekends.
11/27/17: 4.0 out of 5 - First time here as my wife and I are visiting from Portland, Oregon. We ate with extended family that is familiar with this place.
Noble Chef is a small restaurant but it is clean with a nice look. The service and food is good and worth a try.
If ever in the area, try Noble Chef once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

Never been before?! Looked at during COVID, but only take-out most of the time. Really good, and this Friday Noon, had lots of people coming, staying, and going! Old & young, see pics!! Excellent attentive staff.
$$prices. Great BBQ♨️🍗🧆🥩🐖, 🐟🦞too!!! Family👨👩👧👦style tables if want, up to 10!, 2 tables 🍽️ like that!! Divided room. Lots of take out choices!
Many people came in during 🕧30 min. i was there!!! Needed for #7footApartHikes later this weekend!!!
This is the best Chinese food I've had in San Diego. The atmosphere gives the feel of an everyday neighborhood diner... and it does not matter because the food is the main star. Be aware that everyone knows this too. There is usually a 30-40 minute wait for a table any given night and on holidays expect a 2-3 hour wait for to-go orders. They are that popular. Sorry, no pics. I was distracted by the yummy food and I ate everything on my plate before I remembered. Maybe next time. 😉
Food quality was better than anticipated and I would give it 9 out of 10 for the authenticity (Cantonese cuisine) and overall food quality.
Not a big restaurant and seating could be more spacious.
My GOTO Cantonese restaurant at San Diego! Very authentic.
My personal recommendations are
Ginger & Scallion Lobster Yee Mein
French Style Beef Steak
Macao Style Pork Belly
Chef’s Spareribs
Good menu, food is good quality and generous quantities. Duck was a little cold and had to be reheated. Service was very attentive and complimentary green tea.
The place was busy, and my group of three were not Chinese The rest of the patrons were. We were welcomed to a great experience. The food was awesome and spot on. The Pekin duck was good. For any foodie out there, this is the place to eat. Excellent dishes. Try this place out. You will be happy.
One of the better Chinese Restaurantpp in San Diego. It is not that big. They are famous for their roast duck or peking duck
