Small and slightly strange location near or practically IN a gas station, don't let its humble appearance fool you. These are the same great sandwiches you have been getting at J's for years.
If you haven't gotten a sandwich from J's, you really ought to give them a try - just be sure to bring your appetite because the sandwiches are HUGE and packed. If you go with someone, and are able to agree on one of the dozens of options they have available, you could probably split one to make 2 reasonably portioned meals.
For me, I was not here for reasonability. I was here for a cheat meal and all the calories. I got the Ring of Fire and the Blondie for dessert.
The Ring of fire was packed full of meat and dressed with Buffalo sauce and Ranch (if I remember correctly). It was tasty, but for a similar experience that is kicked up a notch, I'd suggest going for The Graduate.
The blondie was delightful. Think chocolate chip cookie with an oreo filling and you are getting close to the flavor profile.
The staff was kind and courteous, and service was speedy in the face of a pretty big crowd in a small space. My one qualm would be that the music was far too loud. Other than that? A great place for a casual lunch that is a step above fast food.
OMG. What a local Deli used to be. Great sandwiches, wraps with hot and cold sides. Wide selection of specialty sandwiches. Hot dishes and snacks. Fair prices and even busy, fast friendly service. I was hard pressed to finish half of a large submarine sandwich. A++
This isn’t an ordinary sandwich shop. The portions are more than generous and the quality is superior. You can never go wrong with the steak and cheese or their spin on a Rueben
