After reading a couple of reviews on the Tampa Bay Restaurant Review on FB, we decided to give The Galley a try! I must say, if we had just been walking by at first look we may not have stopped in, however what caught our eye was the sidewalk bar! Yes, they have one.
When you walk in It is a little dark and seating can be limited as there is a bar ,3 high top tables down the center and 4 booths which is where we sat( the very last one open),2 small 2 toppers at the very back. Yet, don’t let that discourage you... sit where you can because service was spot on for us, we were greeted right off and handed menus to look through! Our server was quick with our drinks in which my husband and I both had something locally brewed!
After strolling through their menu I settled for their Bayside Buffalo Shrimp 🍤, these are not your mamas Buffalo Shrimp as they are more in the Asian side of sweet and spicy! The hubby had the “Philly Chz” Fries, with nice size pieces of Filets Mignon smoothed in Havarti Cheese!
Both hit the spot.
The decor was really cool as you feel like you are in a Galley of an old Pirate ship!! The experience was great and the service was spot on as we were cked on several times. If you are a sports fan they have plenty of 📺 TV’s to watch! This will not be our last visit to the Galley
I really enjoy the atmosphere, staff, drinks, and food at The Galley. The (initial) main attraction for me was that the owners are St. Pete locals that deeply care about our great city in addition to striving for excellence in their industry. A great place for locals, service industry, sports fans, trivia geeks, beer lovers, humans that eat food, visitors to town, etc. Day, night - whichever!
I read the CL review. I have to disagree with the writer! The Galley food is always fantastic and cocktails on point! Highly recommend this place! Keep up the good work Guys!
