The food here is delicious, especially the brisket. The sides are very good, and it is worth every penny! The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The rib eye steaks from the meat counter and the brisket burgers are my favorites to take home and grill.

Growing up I always thought of pulled pork when I thought of barbecue. A friend took me to Shaffer's and I had the brisket. Personally it's the best barbecue I've ever had and I've eaten there several times since. I don't go through that area often, but definitely stop here every time I do!! It's also been featured on Tennessee Crossroads.

Schaffer's Texas BBQ and Meats has awesome food!!! They offer Brisket, Turkey, chicken and pork with sampler plates and vegetable. We rode over on motorcycles but wished we had went in Truck so we could have taken a cooler to buy from the meat market! The white BBQ sauce is to die for!! I did buy a jar of it and took home. Great "out of the way and little mom and pop store and restaurant". Beautiful scenery to ride thru on bike or vehicle if you take the back roads. Will definitely go again and take a cooler. VERY clean and professional + downhome friendly!!!
