Decided to find a mom and pop breakfast place. A quick google pointed us to Uptown Cafe. What a great choice. The atmosphere is homie and the service was great. We ordered and the food came out quickly, hot and delicious. This is a cafe that I will come back to when I’m in Tallahassee. The smoked salmon hash was excellent and so was the John Cash omelette.
The breakfast wrap here was A+! Will definitely recommend to everyone.
4 start because: The grits were a huge letdown. A place like this in the SOUTH using instant grits??? Are we in Minnesota?? Come on.
Otherwise great service, great vibes. Everything you’d want out of a local breakfast joint.

Came here for breakfast and definitely recommend! Service was quick, people were friendly, and food was great. I got the salmon hash with a bagel. I ordered the hash with scrambled eggs but think next time I'll get over easy to make it even better.
When I was nearly done with my meal, someone who wasn't my server (not sure if he was a food runner or another sever) offered me a to go cup of my soda, which was super nice! I'm glad I took it too, because I had unknowingly locked myself out of the car and enjoyed it while waiting for AAA in the parking lot! (I'm sure I could've gone back in to wait, but they came pretty quick.)
Will definitely be returning.
