I attended a holiday open house on Monday evening. Santa and Mrs. Claus were there, as well as live piano entertainment with Ron. Delicious mini scones and cupcakes were free. So were a selection of teas. I had decaf strawberry, which was divine! A free hot chocolate bar with toppings was also available. They had samples of soup that was so good that I bought 2 quarts. Sandwiches were not served. Many adorable decorations upstairs and down are for sale. Easy to find. Parking is available on site. Glad that I got there early (it begins at 6:30 pm) as it is very popular with children and adults. There are some tables and chairs, but it was standing room only when I left, and people were still coming in. Very friendly staff. I'll be telling Santa 🎅 that I want to attend an Afternoon Tea at Mathis House.

Absolutely charming place! We had tea service and couldn't have been more pleased with the tea, food and service! We were so full when we left, dinner wasn't needed! The staff had a way of making everyone they were serving feel like family (special thank you to Julia)! They have plenty of items to purchase to remember your visit (at incredible prices). We also saw the owner making sure the patrons were comfortable! For those who need it there is a small elevator to bring you up to the porch which made it accessible to all! Worth a stop and a great place to have a get together!!! Can't wait to visit again!

The Mathis House is the BEST tea house that I have ever been to! I have been going to the Mathis House for the past three years and I have brought multiple groups of family and friends with me. Every person that I have brought with me to the tea house absolutely loves it and always returns back for another tea service. When you walk into the Mathis House, it is beautifully decorated for whatever the season is. If you visit right now, you will be able to see the beautiful Christmas decor in this Victorian home. Once you arrive, you are able to choose from a variety of seasonal teas. If you prefer other teas, they have a large variety of additional teas - so there is a tea for everyone! Once you choose your tea, you receive a lovely five course meal. You will receive a savory cup of soup, a salad, delicious tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and lemon curd, and a variety of seasonal desserts. The scones are the best scones that I have ever had and they are always available for take out! I have been to many tea houses including tea houses in Europe and Canada and the Mathis House has been and always will be my absolute favorite place to go! In addition to the amazing food, the service is incredible and you will always have a great time. The chefs do an incredible job with the food and all of the waiters and waitresses truly love their job and are a joy to be around. I HIGHLY recommend that you come to the Mathis House and I promise that you will be back time and time again!
