Went to Benihana to celebrate my birthday. We haven't been during the pandemic. The service was not great. As a business and success coach, I know firsthand the struggles that the restaurants are facing. The chef was super nice and the food was delicious.
We had the traditional experience that you get when you come here, but it was interesting because we are used to this particular chain on the East Coast. The sauce is on the west coast are completely different, as are some of the seasonings, so when we got here and everything was different it threw me off initially. Overall I think they didn't exceptionally good job at cooking, the portion sizes were very good, the flavors were good, however I have to give it only four stars because the bathroom was dirty and had not been cleaned in quite a while, and the happy hour drink specials only applied at the bar and not at the table. Very odd.
Family dinner for my cousins birthday. Kid friendly, waiting and chef staff funny and friendly. Although we had an appointment at 7pm, we weren't seated until 7:30 and that was after questioning the hostesses. Chef didn't arrive until 8pm. Normally I wouldn't care, but we had little kids who are not as patient. Which it made it difficult to entertain them while the staff got it together. Regardless of our reservation the staff was not prepared.
