I wished I asked for the names of the server/cooks responsible for my food because it was hands down the best chipotle bowl I’ve had. The chicken was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Everything was cooked how it should be and tasted better than I expected. I have been to this location multiple times and its often mediocre at best, but this time it was made with love, real love.
A great place to get Chipotle in the Lake Ridge area
February 2022 saw this restaurant chain open its 3000 stores in the United States with their ultimate goal being 7000 stores in the US. I have been to many of their locations. They specialize in bowls and burritos with fresh ingredients cooked and prepared where the consumer can see them. This particular one is located in the Lake Ridge area. Google maps will take you right to it but it is in a busy traffic area and so may be a little challenging to arrive at for people new to the area. It is on the northeast corner of the Prince William Parkway and 294. It is up on a hill nestled in between a McDonald's and a Mediterranean restaurant. There are about 25 parking spaces so when it is busy you may have to park in an adjacent lot. We ordered online and the food was ready when we arrived for the pickup. The restaurant was clean and not very busy when we were there. Our order was ready with our name and we picked it up and departed. The prices were consistent for the area and the meal and the food were good but the portion amount for a chicken bowl seemed small when compared to several other Chipotle restaurants we have visited. Overall, it was a good meal at a reasonable price that I would still recommend to other travelers.
11/07/23 Panhandler alert. A guy asking customers for money has a table set up right by the Chipotle entrance. Some charity or something but it is just the same as panhandling.

Update - I got a great response from customer service. My faith in Chipotle is restored!
6/2/23 -The last two times I've ordered online for Chipotle Merchant Plaza I've noticed the rice portion was pathetically skimpy despite selecting the "extra rice" option. So today I ordered in person and discovered Chipotle is now charging for extra rice.
Since online ordering does not allow them to charge for extra rice, I suspect Chipotle Merchant Plaza turns online "extra rice" orders into "skimpy rice" orders against the customer's expressed wishes.
When I asked Chipotle Merchant Plaza why I had been charged for a side today, the cashier (who was not wearing a name tag) told me the charge was for "extra rice". When I asked when charging for extra rice started, the cashier told me that Chipotle Merchant Plaza has always charged for extra rice. This is not true. I told the cashier I had been a customer for years and had never been charged for extra rice. Again, the nameless cashier said Chipotle always charged for extra rice.
I left Chipotle Merchant Plaza dumbfounded. The word "gaslighting" did not dawn on me until I got to my car. "Gaslighting" is a form of manipulation that tries to make the victim doubt their own version of events.
I've been visiting the Merchant Plaza Chipotle for at least 5 years and I know they don't charge for extra rice. I looked back through my past receipts to make sure. If Chipotle Merchant Plaza needs to raise their prices, just raise prices. Please don't lie to my face and gaslight me.
See two receipt screenshots dated 6/2/23.
7/26/23 - I hate it that Chipotle at Merchant Plaza allows vendors to harass their customers. It's just as bad as panhandlers imho. Vendors patrolling both entrances so customers cannot avoid them. I received unwanted attention both when I entered to pick up my order and when I exited. 7//26/22 at 12:25 pm.
2019 review: Chipotle is consistently excellent. Great options for vegetarians and vegans.
