I loved this place. Drove up to spend the afternoon with my son, who goes to LSU. The patio is delightful. The hot green tea was served in a cute cup. The food was super fresh. My son got the Death Valley and I got the sexiest man alive. So good. I would definitely recommend this place. Gabrielle was a great server
First time dining in at Umami, I have to say that it is by far the best sushi restaurant I ever been to. It isn't your avenger sushi restaurant. I don't go to sushi restaurant just for the sushi, I just get full fast off of it. So far, my favorite dish is: Bone Marrow, Sake Tora & the A5 Japanese Wagyu. The Wagyu was pretty pricey but well worth the money and the service was one point.
Chef Cong is a visionary. The aji was perfect...the green tea crepe was an unexpected treat.Yes the hangover soup was as advertised-the best in town. However the ace in the hole was the highly efficient and thankfully opinionated staff who led us on our menu exploration.
We will be back.
