One of the best dining experiences ever! Period. We had had hibachi before but Niwa is a whole new level of table top grilling to be enjoyed.
Everything we ordered was freshly cut and chef prepared. The veggie and meat portions when turned on the grill, brought out the natural juices and flavors. From first course to final, Niwa did not disappoint. Top service. First rate meal experience. Dont pass up Niwa in deep ellum!
From the moment you enter you are greeted with an exquisitely warm welcome and introduced to the beautiful interior design intricately chosen to give you a unique Japanese experience. First I'd like to suggest as far as drinks go, to try the "Okinawan Iced Tea" so good... We started off with two appetizers, the Medamayaki which is (sunny eggs, onions, kimchi sofrito, herbs) and the Tonkatsu (panko fried pork tenderloin, cabbage, tonkatsu sauce), and they did not disappoint and then later we had ordered a variety of the meat selection my favorite being the miso skirt steak as well as some seafood. Also our server was very personable and offered great recommendations as well as being very attentive.
This is a great place and I highly recommend Niwa to everyone.
I'll be back for that Okinawan Iced Tea :) *It's like crack*
It was an amazing experience! Fans of Korean bbq—here’s a slightly different take, where you won’t smell like the food afterward! We tried the miso soup, Hamachi Crudo and Karaage to start, they were exceptional. We had the mushroom medley and two orders of shishito peppers. For our meats, we enjoyed: Lamb lollipops, hanger steak, pork belly, beef belly, calamari, short ribs. The dessert of cream cake and miso caramel was divine. Definitely on my list of favorite places in Dallas.
