Once upon a time there was 2 Lord Ashley’s. One on East Washington and one near Oaklandon. The one on Washington is no more. This location is going strong with a change of ownership 12 years ago. It is a kid friendly joint with both a full menu and a full bar. When we can we like to start off with come fried mushrooms. They serve a generous portion for $7.99.
Wonderful place, great food, good specials, and nice help. One of the city's gems.

I'll be back. I've lived around this area for a few years, and have had a hard time finding a place I really liked to eat. My mother suggested trying Lord Ashley's because she noticed the parking lot is full when she drives by on her way to work. I wasn't expecting much, wow was I surprised.
I saw several things that I wanted to try but stuck with the Ruben so I could have something to judge by. It was delicious and huge. I took half my sandwich home. My mother had their Chicken Alfredo (She let me taste it and it was very yummy), Her's was also a huge portion and she took half of it home. That you can get at least two meals out of one order makes the price very reasonable. The kids menu offered more then just one choice for my 2 year old picky eater. My Daughter ate almost every thing on her plate. There are so many other dishes on the menu that I would like to try, and now that I know how well they can do standard dishes I can't wait to try the other options.
As for service I found them to be very pleasant, and helpful. The owner was there, and he even came over to refill our glasses, and have a nice little chat about my daughter's age and his own grandson. As we left my daughter went over to the tree they have up for Christmas, and they offered her a candy cane. She was delighted, and talked about her candy cane all the way home.
I will be back often if this is always the experience. :)
