This place is a true gem. When the owner found out we had never been there he told us the tale of how Outlaws came to be, and how his vision was to create a Mom and Pop restaurant with ingredients so carefully selected that no additional condiments would be necessary. Here's the thing: I eat ketchup on everything. I'm entirely addicted. When the owner asked me to forego ketchup I started to get nervous because I had never enjoyed a burger without it. I decided to take a bite without ketchup and was stunned. This is the BEST burger I had ever had and I didn't need ketchup! Everything he had said about hand selecting his ingredients and only working with top tier vendors is true. At the end of our experience we were exchanging hugs (the owner is seriously that personable and treats you like an old friend), and when he found out we hadn't had dessert he ushered us back in for a complimentary brownie. If you're looking for a place that offers phenomenal food and top-notch customer service with a true Mom and Pop feel, look no further. This restaurant deserves all the stars in the world!
This place is amazing. Honestly the physical location leaves a lot to be desired, but the owner and staff overcome that in abundance. I had the Bandito burger and was blown away, it was so good. The steak fries are basically a potato cut into 4 pieces and fried (the garlic seasoning is great) which I could see someone not liking, but I enjoyed immensely. The iced tea is very strong, but excellent. The two-vbite brownies have a cinnamon and chile (I think) kick to them, which is something I don't usually go for, but it works here.
But beyond the food, this place has an incredibly friendly vibe. The owner was out on the porch and just sat chewing the fat with me and my friends for a while after we finished eating. The menu has a blurb about "no customers, just hungry friends" or some such. I have seen other places make similar claims, this place actually lives up to it.
This place is great. I had the Mother Load which is their version of a Sloppy Joe. Had a great bite to it and was more food than I could eat. It was also a nice surprise to have the owner Erik, join us at our table with some wonderful conversation. I recommend Outlaws. Make sure you give it a try as well, you won't be disappointed.
