Wonderful planked whitefish meal is the same as always. So large it can easily be shared. Fish is fresh and must be local. Now called Kingston Kitchen at Village Inn with lots of Caribbean jerk dishes
Very tasty food. Nice quantities. Loved their chicken Parmigiana with pasta. Chicken wings was crispy and yummy. Their cherry lemonade was refreshing and nice.
My wife and I were attending an annual convention on Mackinac Island, we and some friends went to the Village Inn for lunch. We found the food to be very good and affordable. What we were most surprised by and thought we should comment about was how well the staff treated us, or rather the special needs son of our friends. Our friends son, is autistic and has a congenital defect which makes it difficult for him to swallow. The staff made an extra effort to make him comfortable and able to eat. While on her way home, our waitress recognized me and informed us he (our friend's son) had left his wallet and ID in the booth where we had been sitting. If that was not enough, when we went back to retrieve the wallet, we found that the wait staff had taken a collection from their tips and put several dollars in his wallet so it was not empty! We are most impressed with the kindness and service we received. I only wish I knew the name of the waitress who served us so I could give her the recognition she deserves.
