I've had the pleasure of visiting this place many times, making it a point to never leave NYC without eating there at least once. The fried pickles are some of the best I've ever had - they have somehow managed to keep the pickles juicy and flavorful, while making the batter perfectly crispy and not soggy at all. The sauce that comes with it tops it all off! I'm also a fan of the street corn with the spicy aioli, which I get every single time. My sister got the chicken and pancakes, so I was able to try that as well. The pancakes aren't anything special, but the chicken is the crispiest I've ever had, without all of the grease! The combo of it all together is pretty tasty! Lastly, I tried their jam jar, which ingredient-wise is just gin and lemonade, but it is truly an amazing combination and the most refreshing lemonade I've ever tried. It wasn't too sweet and definitely hit the spot, tying everything together. The atmosphere is very cozy, especially for dinner, but they also have an amazing selection of up-beat music playing constantly. Service has always been amazing and I've never really had any wait times. No complaints so far, so highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!
Have been several times and always love it. Service is quick and great, portions are HUGE… like MEGA. The star of the show for me is definitely the biscuits with mushroom gravy, although others I’ve dined with have said the sausage gravy is some of the best they’ve had too. Fried pickles are great and drinks are fun.
Jacob's Pickles has the best fried chicken and pickles in all of NYC. We went for brunch this past Sunday and the place was packed. We started with the Jam Jar and Spicy Brine Margarita cocktails and both were delicious, especially the margarita. It was perfectly spicy with just the right amount of pickle flavor without it being overwhelming. For an appetizer, we did the Fried Pickles served with spicy mayo. These pickles are the absolute BEST I've ever tried--the batter is amazing and it actually adheres to the pickles without sloughing off. The pickle within was delightful and fresh. For our main course, we had the Hot Chicken Biscuit and the Chicken & Pancakes. Both blew us out of the water. The fried chicken is just incredible, so tasty and battered perfectly. Again, I'm not sure how they do it, but NONE of the batter detaches from the chicken and remains perfectly intact throughout. Not to mention, the portions are VERY generous and the side of grits that came with the sandwich were delicious. There was plenty of leftovers for dinner later on. Our server, Cam, was good but very busy with the brunch rush. I HIGHLY recommend Jacob's Pickles for brunch, lunch, dinner, and the best pickles and chicken in all of NYC!
