Old-school New York City diner in Midtown. After 36 hr fasting for a medical procedure, I needed someplace nearby for a good breakfast and this fit the bill. The omelette wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but since I was starving, it tasted delicious, home fries were good and the bagel with cream cheese cheese was tasty. Typical New York City diner style service from a hard-working crew looking to do their best. I will say that an ordinary egg breakfast for two coming out to $50+ (including tip) was a little bit eye popping but this is the heart of Midtown Manhattan so it is what it is. Can’t say that I would definitely recommend it unless you are at a hotel in the area and you need something convenient.
My buddy and I were strolling around looking for a reasonable restaurant to sit down in that wasn’t named Starbucks. We found it. Service was perfect. Never felt rushed but never felt ignored. Prices were what you expect for two breakfast plates, even though I have to imagine their rent in midtown must be sky high. The people working in the restaurant were very nice. A man even came outside looking for me because I forgot 45 cents on the counter. All told a VERY enjoyable experience. A place to sit and talk and take your time. In midtown. During the lunch rush. 👍
The Bacon&Egg sandwich was ok for nyc prices. The pancakes, which were served with salted butter and syrup, however were amazing, besides the price of 16 isch $
Hot chocolate was 3,75$ and was served eith free water.
Sitting outside is rarely available, but I highly recommend it.
