It was a Amazing experience, doesn’t said much form the outside, very well located close to Central Park and in the food court. The menu has excellent choices, and the prices was in according with quality and quantities. I will come back I my next visit to the city
Great food and proper service! The service person was very friendly and polite, and I could tell she was possibly not a "local" person as sounded very Italian in her accent. The food is very good! I grew up eating piadina in Italy and this is the closest to the real deal you can find this side of the world. Of course, being quality food using great quality ingredients, it can be a bit overpriced; overall, definitely worth it!
I would say that I can't believe this place hasn't been rated yet, but the truth is that all of the dining options at the Plaza Food Hall are sort of hidden in plain sight.
Piada specializes in delicious Italian flat bread sandwiches. The place gets its name from the bread itself, Piada.
I recently walked in after a day in the frigid cold in Central Park. I ordered a Café mocha (hot chocolate with a shot of espresso). I was won over on the first sip. It was as perfect as can be. Instead of leaving with my warm cup of bliss, I decided to sit and enjoy an assortment of fine Italian olives, a very well balanced and tasty piada called the Amacord (prosciutto di Parma, mozzarella, arugula and extra virgin olive oil).
Seating is sparse, but it lends to the charm of this place. The staff is on point and look forward to serving patrons.
I'm now looking forward to returning and trying the Plaza exclusive Piadina (Oven roasted Salmon, artichoke hearts, frisee, lemon caper sauce). Stay tuned for an update...
