Happened to find this gem of a restaurant quite randomly, and I am so glad we did! Had such a wonderful meal at Le French Diner. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, unimposing and cozy. We wanted to really sample the menu, so we ordered quite a few apps, including smoked mussels, escargot, and foie gras, just to name a few. Each one seemed more delicious than the last. The entrees of duck confit and boeuf bourguignon were absolute perfection. We even shared food with a nice Australian man who was seated next to us at the bar (his squid entrée was out of this world) We finished the meal with espressos and a dessert of French flan with apples and sea salt, it was so good we fought for the last bite. Pierre and his staff were warm, accommodating and friendly without being pushy or pretentious. The whole dining experience was A+ from beginning to end. The next time in the city, we will definitely be back for more "food luv"!
This place is so cozy and authentic. I will definitely be making this a regular spot. Some of the best French food in the city.
found this place after getting stuck in the rain. Out of all that I did visiting New York City, this is the one place that I really want to visit again. And again. And again.
Huggy from New Orleans.
