When my daughter suggested we try this restaurant, I was reluctant; I normally do not care for Mexican food - it is either too spicy or somewhat greasy. After looking over the menu and hoping to find some American style food (which I did) I was pleased to see that the items came with a choice of meat other than beef or chicken. I decided to try a regular burrito with grilled pork. When the waiter approached the table, I thought he was bringing me a loaf of bread: the burrito was enormous! It smelled heavenly, and tasted even better than it looked. The pork was grilled perfectly, and the ingredients were evenly proportioned. The waiter was friendly and apologized for the "wait", even though the food was served in a relatively short amount of time.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. It was exactly what a cafe would be in Mexico - a pretty normal restaurant with just enough "flavor" to give the impression that you were in a small cafe in a city south of the border.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, and look forward to another visit.
First off, this is such a cute place! Food was delicious, ordered the shredded beef and chicken tacos and they were so good. Staff was very friendly and always checked up on us. The selection of beer and margaritas was on point. Overall good vibe, good food and great service.
The best Mexican in norfolk the barbacoa tacos are awesome its a hidden gem for sure and will definitely be back and cannot recommend enough.
