Went to brunch at Geordies in the Wrigley Mansion to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. It was wonderful. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food was exquisite with a variety that spanned breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Everything from eggs and sausage, omelets or waffles to salads, sandwiches, prime rib, leg of lamb and crab and shrimp. We sampled many dishes and all of them were excellent. The staff even brought a special desert for my folks with “Happy Anniversary” written on the plate. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Wrigley. They went above and beyond.
I took my family here for Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation but were seated relatively promptly. It is a beautiful property perched up high with views of Camelback and the city. The service was great as we sat down. We were lucky enough to have had live piano music being played and it was quite comfortable. The food was great. Juicy turkey and great prime rib. I had some of their seafood and I was pleasantly surprised. My family enjoyed the mimosas and the wine. It wasn’t pretentious but just comfortable. I’d highly recommend for those who love to celebrate but may not have the time or patience to create a feast. My family are still saying how relaxed it was... and isn’t that what holidays are supposed to be ?!
Having been in many fine dining restaurants over the years - you quickly identify with an establishment that just gets a few things right and you tend to frequent them - Well the Wrigley nailed it on multiple fronts - it wasn't the idyllic sunset, the smell of orange blossoms the view of downtown - it was the staff, the attention to detail the genuine interest in your needs, the custom cocktails - the passion the staff have for their guests - and then comes the food - BAM! Sorry Christopher had to use an Emryll anecdote - everything was perfect - the portions, the flavors, nothing tried too hard - everything complimented each flavor - I truly left shocked that this little hideaway that anyone can go to is not just an event place its a dining experience for you and your partner - if only they had rooms I stay for long weekends.
