Got to try a bunch of tasty tapas at this fancy Spanish restaurant. Very busy, though they seated + served us nicely at the bar outside. The octopus appetizer was by far my favorite. We also tried:
- The northwest kiss: tasty, kind of like lox in a cup
- Squid ink pasta - very rich, with a bit of a spice kick. Delicious.
- Cod fritters - kind of heavy, but crispy and fresh
- Rabbit - would not recommend, pretty salty, a lot of breading, and not a lot of meat
- Skirt steak - really good cut of meat, well cooked with crispy bits throughout.
Overall, most of the dishes were hits. Would definitely come back. Only meh parts were the rabbit and the fact that everything was just a tad on the salty side for my tastes.
This was my first time in Portland and I visited here with two other people. We all ordered the $45/person "sampler" and it was excellent! The waitstaff is great and they give you a brief background of each dish that is served; each person gets 12 separate dishes. The restaurant is located within a quiet neighborhood so it's actually a nice walk if you have to park a block or so away (parking was no problem when I visited). Highly recommend this place and I will def visit again!
Went here on a whim after seeing the cookbook in the sister restaurant Tasty and Alder. This place was absolutely delicious! Plenty of dishes for all flavor palates. The friend empanada was a huge hit at our table as well as the paella. Will return many times to explore the rest of the menu. Hats off to the chef !
