New owners as of May 2017, so kinda seeing how it goes. July 2017, met the new owner personally this week, kind business woman, retained my favorite bartender and other employees stayed with her. NEW happy hour specials!!!!! She said to check them out on Facebook! The food is great, reasonable, lots of specials in drinks and food items, as well as activities, starting a new Trivia night as well, so far so great, I'm really thinking this could be the BEST true pub in Portland for ALL walks of life!
Never been at night, but their lunch is one of the better bar menus in Old Town / China Town.
Service is always exceptional the 10+ times I have had lunch there over the last few years. Cool, laid back decor, fast lunch (less than 10 minutes) for 3 people getting burgers.
Prices are about 8 bucks without drinks OR tip for standard bar fare staples.
Friendly barkeep is attentive and keeps the waters refreshed.
I came here from The Stag (you can see my review on their google page), and found this to be, again, dead (about 4 people eating at a table, and 4 others in general).
This one wasn't too bad. I expected, like the previous place, it to be fairly quiet. The bartender was decent, as I knew he was probably bored, so I get it, but he wasn't trying to brush me off as quickly as the last one. He seemed nice, and the place was comfortable feeling.
Given the chance, I would most likely go back to this one, as the bartender, while he was talking with another person, wasn't totally oblivious to the fact I was there, and seemed pretty down to earth.
He did seem a bit distant, but I think this is just because he might have had other things going on that were affecting such, but again, he wasn't totally oblivious to me and my glass.
I hope that one day, I can update this review to a 5 star.
