Drive THRU visit. I've only visited through the drive-thru on lunch time. Every time I'm sweetly greeted by a welcoming young Asian girl that works there at the drive up window. The food always seems to taste better when she's there !!
Here comes another Saturday salad review. As has become our routine, my partner and I packed a filling meal that was quick and easy to consume during the short lunch break between our classes.
Considering our lunch box options, we decided this would be a great opportunity to review salads from different chain restaurants during the course of the semester. Please note that these salads are purchased as late as possible on a Friday night, quickly refrigerated at home, and then pulled from a cooler at lunchtime on Saturday.
On the way home from work, I decided to stop in at Burger King on Walzem Road to grab some salads for the weekend. Being the commuting rush time, this restaurant was somewhat busy. I did check the bathroom, and it was passable for cleanliness. The condiment area also looked pretty decent considering the crowd. The lines moved quickly enough. Fast food...
The salad options here are extremely limited. BK has three. The regular side salad looked sadly skimpy, so I picked from the other two. For my partner, I chose the Chicken, Apple & Cranberry Garden Fresh Salad. I figured he would like this one. It has seven lettuce blends, sliced apples, sweet dried cranberries, and some chunky blue cheese. I chose the tendercrip chicken for his salad. It comes with Ken's apple cider vinaigrette dressing.
For myself, I picked the Chicken Caesar Garden Fresh Salad. I always like Caesar salads, and this one was actually pretty good. It came with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, Parmesan croutons, and shaved Parmesan cheese. I chose the tendergrill chicken for my topping. It also comes with Ken's citrus Caesar vinaigrette, which was good.
These salads were both still crispy enough by lunchtime. These are salads we would enjoy having again if we are ever in a Burger King. We liked the salad dressings, but for us, there is not enough. We brought a couple of bottles from home with us to finish the job.
Choosing salads for our lunchbox has been a very good idea this semester since this has given us the opportunity to try out salad offerings from national chains. They are healthy-ish alternatives to burgers from these restaurants.
After a 12hr shift, I did not want to come home to cook. I picked up my son & headed to Burger King on Walzem. When I pulled up to order the voice said I'll will be with you shortly. I said thank you. Yes Ma'am she replied. Most places just have you waiting without anyone knowing you waiting. Voice was back and asked if we were ready to order. I said yes order my order. One of my Burger I said no Mayo. She said yes ma'am. Continued with my order and asked us to pull up 2nd window. When car in front left we proceeded to window. Where we were greeted by none the less Ms. Esther. She read the order back to me like a professional. Exactly how i ordered it. She charged me handed me the drinks, then my order. I told her she has excellent customer service. Super confident & happily working. Thank you Ms. Esther you made our Sunday Funday Great.
