It was a dreary, rainy, typical Washington day and I was in the mood for a good chai latte (as you can tell I'm obsessed with them). I was trying to find a good cafe with one of my really close friends from high school. We were soaked to the bone and tired but we found Cafe Solstice right on the Ave. It was meant to be.
You walk in and are immediately hit with chatter and the rich aroma of coffee beans. I went up and ordered my chai, and was given my drink in what seemed like a matter of seconds. It was hard to find seats because there were so many people but a kind gentleman gave up his table for us (thank you so much!). It was probably busy due to it being a weekday near lunchtime but I've found that most good places in Seattle are usually just always busy.
My chai was delicious! More spicy than sweet but it would be wonderful with a sweet scone or muffin. I got it with soy milk this time because I'm trying to stay off dairy and it was just as good as any other latte. They even put foam art on top which I didn't know they could do with tea lattes. Overall it was a wonderful, cozy experience. A great place to catch up with friends and hunker down on a rainy day.
Perfect for students. I go to uw, so this place is life saver plus really helpful.. food is good - mac n chees and grilled cheese sandwiches best.. n the white choc. banana bread.. very large serving.. great for price and free wifi.. what more can we students ask for..
Sweet. The closest coffee I have found to replacing Stumptown when I am visiting Seattle. They also have got the whole cafe atmosphere thing down. Couches and tables and good food.
