Randomly ended up here around 2pm on a Sunday while we were driving around. It has neat old school decor, there are about 3 tables with chairs inside and a bunch of picnic tables outside. We shared the grouper cheeks and lobster corn dog with fries. Wow! All items were very good! The fries, seasoned with fresh garlic, Parmesan, and cilantro, are amazing. My one regret is that the grouper cheeks are made with cornmeal breading rather than the batter the lobster was dipped in. We will definitely be back!
The patio is pretty well shaded and there were 2 guys playing acoustic guitar. Really a nice lunch spot!
Heads up if you have a mobility impairment, this place isn’t what I would call “accessible.” Crushed shells, stationary picnic tables, soda machine in an awkward corner, bathroom out back with a narrow entry. I’m sure you’ll manage but like many “hole in the wall” places it has a lot of...”character.”
While I was near Macdill AFB I found this place on my map app, the pictures from the reviews made me super hungry. This place met all my expectations. I had the grouper cheek salad and it was awesome!!! The portions were perfect and flavor was on perfect. I have been looking for a place that had cheeks since I moved here from a Panama City. The staff was knowledgeable of where the fish came from and very nice. I will be back to try the lobster corndog very soon. This is a hidden jewel where the local community contributes pictures of their local catches that are used to decorate one of the walls. If you haven't been here yet, put it on your list of places to visit soon.
I’m a total seafood snob and this place is legit! Everything we tried was top notch. The peel and eat shrimp was some of the best I’ve had in my life!
