Hells to the yes! Thank god this place opened since Cajun Experience bombed after their Chef left. I'm from "Down The Bayou" in Louisiana and I'm so ashamed at so many "cajun" places around DC. It's sad :( So, this place rocks! The manager/owner, I'm assuming, is super friendly and a blast to talk to. He's from Metarie, LA and makes the place legit. He's also amazing to talk to and very funny. He isn't afraid to have fun while running an amazing establishment and I approve. Laid back people need to be more prevalent in DC. Back to the place... It's the only place in town I know to carry a majority of the great flavors of Zapp's chips too. Not just the basic ones! Cajun Crawtator etc...omg so fun! I've yet to get them, but I know where they are now! So I've gone here 2 times so far. I wanted to make sure I tried the Fried Shrimp PoBoy as well as the Seafood Gumbo and Crawfish Etouffee. I must say, ALL LEGIT! Just like home! The PoBoy's French Bread was perfect. It's the softish kind on the inside with a really flaky crust on the outside. The shrimp was literally falling off of the thing you get so much. The tomatoes are fresh, the lettuce shredded (as it should be!), remoulade sauce was spot on. Everything was great! Now, a little secret. I don't usually get Shrimp PoBoys with remoulade sauce. I'm more of a lettuce/tomato/mustard guy. I like the tang, but for the sake of you kids I tried the R Sauce. Get either because I approve of it. The seafood gumbo is made with a nice dark roux. If you've had gumbo and don't know what that is, you're doing it wrong! The other very! Important! thing! when eating gumbo is filet. It's a seasoning. If the gumbo doesn't have that, again, doing it wrong. They do it right! Also, there are bottles of filet on the tables. I almost peed a little out of excitement. The only down side to the gumbo, or maybe I got a bad few scoops, is that it didn't have any oysters in it. It had shrimp, crab and crawfish. So good! You could see the 'holy trinity' of cajun food floating around as well. It's 100% real. Now, for my favorite dish. The Crawfish Etouffee. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It truly is one of my favorite dishes from down home. I search for it endlessly. I even go as far as to get it during Popeye's "Crawfish Season" just to get my fix. This one puts Popeye's to shame, though. Of course! Again, it's real. It has soul. It has flavor. It has everything! Tons of chunky crawfish. Great amazing rice (not the cheap crap!). Plenty of etouffee. Just amazing! One side note I could say is to ask for a little bit of french bread on the side. I loooove dipping FB into Etouffee. I didn't ask for any, though I will next time. The entire place is a small little eatery with very limited inside seating. It has a very quaint 'in and out' feeling but doesn't try to rush you out the door. With that in mind, there is a lot of area out front to sit and thankfully it was mid 60s the other day and we enjoyed the sunlight while eating our food. I just love everything about this place. It screams Louisiana. Do yourself a favor and get some flavor.

Food is really good. Reminds me of my family's cooking... Definitely a great spot to have lunch outside when the weather is nice!
